Are you interested in learning how to design a PCB? Come to this workshop run by the Curtin Robotics Club to learn how!  We'll cover the basics - from making a schematic to turning it into a fully fledged board.   This workshop will teach you how to use KiCad, an open-source circuit design software, giving you the skills to design your own PCBs with professional quality. The circuit you design will be a bit counter that you can choose to assemble later during our soldering workshop! It is recommended to have KiCad installed on your computer before the event begins, follow this link for installation (it's FREE): https://www.kicad.org/download/

Are you interested in learning how to CAD? Not sure where to start and how? Join our CAD workshops! Starting from a beginner level, participants will learn how to use CAD to create their very own files for a 3D-printable fidget toy. This short workshop will run on the 28th of March at 6pm! On the night please gather at the bottom floor of the Pavillion near the CRoC clubroom where we will then take you all to the computer labs. Please bring USB's so you can keep your work. Make sure to register your interest in this free event via the tickets page - there are limited spots, so book in while you can!

Build Nights is a weekly event hosted by CRoC where members come together to work in their teams to complete robotics based projects. This event runs every Thursday night during the teaching semester. These are the current projects to chose from:  BoozeBot  XY-Plotter TinyBot  UR-5 Laser Tanks  Kenny the Echidna Bingo the Husky CRoC always welcomes new members at any point during the semester - memberships cost $5 for the year, or is free with a guild voucher. Come visit us on the ground floor of the Pavillion if you have any question, want to sign up, or join a project!

Drop in nights is another Build Night for those who would like some extra time to work on their projects, unavailable on thursday, and a new night to host our various workshops happening this semester! Come along to the Introductory Build Night on 2rd March from 6pm to find out more about the club's events, projects, and workshops happening this semester.   The night will start off with a series of short introductions and presentations, given by the President and Project Leads, you will then have the opportunity to have a look at our projects and ask any questions, sign up to our Hackathon and meet the many club members and committee. And of course, there will be free pizza! All students from all degrees are welcome, register your attendance to the event today - this will take place on the ground floor of the Engineering Pavillion.

The Curtin Robotics Clubs (CRoC) will hold the Special General Meeting (SGM) & Games Night towards the end fo October!  WHEN: 20/10/22, 5:00 - Late  LOCATION: 215.300 (Engineering Pavillion 3rd Floor) Join CRoC for our SGM where we will be electing our General Committee for 2023 and discussing any additional issues not discussed in the AGM. Afterwards, join us after for Games Night where will be playing card games and board games! Feel free to bring along your own games and some extra snacks. Light finger food will be provided at the SGM!

Advanced Hackathon: The Heist

CROC presents Hackathon - The Heist! We are back again this semester with a brand new challenge! Your mission, should you choose to accept - is to create a bot that can pull off the heist of the century! Over two-days during the study break, participants will come together in teams to build an Arduino based robot that can complete a set of surprise challenges. Basic familiarity with the arduino or the arduino IDE is recommended for this advanced Hackathon. On the day, teams will receive all the components and material needed to build their bot as well as a complete components list that will be sent out prior to the event so you can get the best start possible!    Ensure to sign up to reserve your place now. This is to ensure we can cater FREE food and prepare robotics kits for an accurate number of people. Also, bring your own laptops, chargers, and have the Arduino IDE installed.  As usual, this event is FREE!  Please don't hesitate to message us if you have any questions.
